An old college friend just brought me a mountain of loquat from his mom's house. I'll be cooking that up this week. They are quite tasty! If a mango and a peach had a baby, that's what they would taste like. They are sweet like a peach but have a citrus tang like a mango.
I will also be doing some experimenting this week with Mango and Jasmine, Rose and Rhubarb, and "Bluebonnet" jelly. For those native Texans...yes, bluebonnets are toxic. Or at least it is believed they are. This jelly will have it's namesake because of the color but will actually be made from Violets. However, Violet is not nearly as catchy as Bluebonnet jelly in Texas! Stay tuned on how the experimentation comes out!
